This means frequent coaching sessions for managers, in the form of six weekly 2 hour sessions. Managers are expected to be able to deal with a lot of things. They are confronted with a large variety of situations and people, which is what makes the job as much fun as it is. But it can also be complex, putting a lot of pressure on these individuals and exposing them to stress, which can result in reduced creativity. And it is that creativity that is essential for a management position! If these circumstances present themselves, it may prove useful to consult a coach, who can help the employee put things in the right perspective. This will enable him to see new possibilities, arrive at new ideas and adopt a fresh approach towards situations. The coach enables the manager to take an objective look at the situation, without his or her own presumptions.
This session is intended to articulate different situations without constraints. The participants do not have to worry about whether their comments are appropriate, whether they are putting a strain on their relationship or whether their managers will start to look at them in a different perspective. The manager is free to describe the situation as he or she sees it. The coach will use different interviewing techniques to enable the employee to come to the core of the situation. If the manager consults with the coach on a regular basis, stress levels can be kept to a minimum!
